Michael P. Ogilvie, M.D., M.B.A., is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon who is double board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. A native Chicagoan, he was born and raised in Hyde Park and is proud to serve the community he loves. After completing high school at the University of Chicago Laboratory School, Dr. Ogilvie attended the prestigious Harvard University in Cambridge, MA, earning his undergraduate degree cum laude in the field of biochemical sciences. He returned to Chicago and earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine while earning a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

After receiving his dual degrees, Dr. Ogilvie completed a rigorous five-year general surgery residency and a two-year post-doctoral research fellowship in trauma and critical care at Jackson Memorial Hospital at the University of Miami in Miami, FL. Dr. Ogilvie continued his training by accepting a plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at the highly renowned Duke University in Durham, NC, where he spent three years training alongside some of this country’s leading plastic and reconstructive surgeons. Finally, he rounded out his training experience with a year-long aesthetic and oculoplastic surgery fellowship at the prestigious Few Institute for Aesthetic Surgery in Chicago under the mentorship of the world-renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Julius Few. While at the University of Miami and Duke University, Dr. Ogilvie was named a chief resident at both programs.
Dr. Ogilvie has not only shown dedication to his craft with over ten years of intensive post-graduate training but also epitomizes the definition of surgeon-scientist by having conducted extensive clinical research, culminating in authoring more than 25 publications in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals. He has also written several textbook chapters and has presented his work at several national conferences. Dr. Ogilvie has earned several grants, scholarships, and awards, including The Plastic Surgery Foundation’s Pilot Research Grant, The Provident Foundation’s Legacy Helping Hands Award for excellence in medical education, and the Robert Zeppa Research Award for excellence in medical research.
